Tipping?

1st time going to florida/America and I'm worried about tipping, who do I tip, when do I tip and how much?. I don't want to offend anyone by getting it wrong🙂

Just do between 10-15% usually. Sometimes a little more when the service is really good somewhere.

Also if you're at a bar remember to leave a tip for drinks when you pay. Trust me. 😄

Bear in mind that they automatically add the tip if you're in a larger party, so watch out for that

Ooh, get ready for heated debate on this!

The most commonly tipped and my thoughts are:
Waiting staff: 15% is considered minimum with 20% for good service.
Bar staff: $1-2 a round.
Room cleaners: $1 per person in room per day; left per day so your cleaner doesn’t miss out if off on the day you check out.
Baggage porters at airport or in hotel:$5-10 depending on amount of luggage?
Someone else helping with luggage, eg, driver on car hire shuttle: $1-2 per bag/case.
Clerk retrieving left luggage at hotel (if you’ve used this facility):$5?
Valet at valet parking: $5?
Bus driver on excursions: $5-10 depending on length of excursion etc.
Cab driver: 10-15%; mimimum of $2-3.

Just my thoughts!

For servers, both restaurant and bartenders, I go with the TIW amount of 18%.

Just back from Orlando and on pretty much all our restaurant food bills the suggested tip was 18%, 20% or 22%, this has increased from the 15%, 18% or 20% on our previous trips.

We've always done 18% as a base, 20% if it's good.

Is it acceptable to give sterling? When I got my dollars I was only given larger notes. It would just be to start with until we have had chance break in to them
