Do you tip in the Quick Service type establishments?

Not talking McDonald's or Wendys here but I did notice at Disney Springs in particular the QS places I went to requested an 'added tip' when I gave my credit card over.

In Blaze I spent about $13 and the suggested amounts I believe were 18, 20 and 25% and at Everglazed I spent about $9 and it was the same there. I assume the other QS places in Disney Springs are doing the same?

Didn't notice as much off site, except at some fancy coffee shop in Winter Park.

I personally don't tip at these places. The Blaze experience was poor last time in terms of customer service and Everglazed she literally just put 2 donuts in a box for me. I know its only a few dollars here and there but it all adds up, if you want to stick to a food budget of sorts.

Not places I eat. Let me get this straight though. Somebody gives you food at a counter and expects a tip? Is that right?

If so my attitude and reply would be you are having a laugh.

I never tip for counter service, just the same as you wouldn't tip for fast food from KFC or the likes. I think it's cheeky that places like Gideon's etc at DS are trying to pull this right now. I will definitely be declining this suggestion.

Oh my word I can’t believe this is a thing! I have in the back of my mind that The Polite Pig (yum) have done this previously, but I’m pretty sure they do at least bring you your food to the table (iirc?)
Whatever next?!?!… if you go to gift shop and buy a t-shirt , you wouldn’t be expected to give a tip for them placing it in a bag for you?!?
Good grief.
So to answer the question, no we won’t be doing so on our next trip unless someone has to go above and beyond for some reason.

Fuller’s pub in Paddington has been trying this for years. You order at the bar, and when you go to pay the machine asks if you want to add different amounts for a tip - before anyone has even served you. I always press ‘none’!

Noticed this in Blaze. I did tip as it was the 1st time I had been and I was a newbie on the tipping front

I noticed this in LA when I was there last month, in a LOT of places I would consider QS. I suspect it will creep up, maybe not in the parks, but certainly in other places.

I was a little bit flabbergasted to be asked to tip 20% when someone picked me out a cake from the counter. Or a scoop of ice cream - they asked at Randys donuts too.

Pressed no every time, but it' certainly a thing now.
