No magic bands & rides

We won’t have magic bands this year so how do you get on the rides 🧐🧐
We would usually tap the band and enter as it turns green but we obviously can’t do that this year. Do you receive cards like universal?

You say you won't have bands this year - does that mean you have them from previous trips? If so, you can take them and they will work if they are still linked to your My Disney Experience.

If not, you can still get cards when you check in.

I think you can also use your phone too? Although this is clearly what Disney is after to try and save themselves as much money as possible…

They give you the plastic credit card size tickets or you can use magic bands from a previous trip of you still have them.

You can def use your phone now , or the good old card ticket

You can use your phone, reuse old magic bands or just use the plastic card tickets that you will be sent.

You’ll need something to get into the parks first - either a plastic card, a MagicBand or your phone. If you’ve got an e-ticket then you can go to the ticket booths at the entrance to the parks and pick up a plastic ticket. Or you can use an old MagicBand.

You don’t actually need to scan anything to go on the rides. If you enter the standby queue then you don’t scan anything. You only need to scan something if you’re entering the Lightning Lane.

We do have old magic bands but they are 4 years old now 😳
My husband will be the only one of us with a phone so the card option will be perfect 🤩🤩

The magic bands will still work for tapping in, the only thing that may not work is the long range tracking (photos on seven dwarfs etc) which the cards also don’t do.

Our magic bands are 6 years old but there still linked to MDE so should work
