Yes the salary is ok, it is less than the Payroll job but we can manage on it. DH is back to being self employed so hoping some work comes his way soon.

Congrats anyway. Nice to be popular.
It is difficult to compare but there is a chance the job will expand to more hours as there is another school (bigger but struggling) in the Trust. I am just pleased I got a 2nd chance with it.

Started my new job this week, at the school. Really enjoyed both days (Mon + Fri) and they left me on my own of Fri afternoon so must have trusted me. I am working in the school office so no day seems to be the same, I have my set jobs for each day and then anything else that crops up.

Sounds interesting. I am starting a new job next week too (same.office different area). I am fairly confident in my abilities but always a bit of nervousness for the unknown and new colleagues etc. The first day is the hurdle. Well done!

That's great news, congratulations. I'm sure as time goes by you'll find hours will increase too, the toughest part is getting your foot in the door. I've worked in our school office for 7 years and love it. We're a primary school so I see the kids from nursery all the way through to 11 yrs which is lovely. Christmas time is a particularly special time to work in a school

Yes loving the Christmas feel in school & as it's a primary there is daily singing of the Christmas songs for the Nativity. Annoyingly yesterday they all went to the local Panto and left me to run the office. Was so quiet and a bit spooky with the wind blowing around outside. Found an old school log book from 1904-1921 so sat and read that as had done my work and no parents at pick up. Will remember to take a book next time I am on my own...
