1st solo trip to Universal - advice needed

I was thinking of doing the Blue man group show - where is the best place (cheapest ) to get tickets?

Did a week in June in cabana bay.lovely resort,easy bus transport to parks.make sure to go to the cinema on city walk.its had a refurb and has leather reclining seats and its amazing

As a single rider you will get through the rides pretty quickly and probably have done them all in 2 days But you can always re do your faves.

I'd suggest getting yourself a lanyard to hold your ticket in for the rides as you have to put all your stuff in a locker before riding certain rides and they only let you take on your ticket in a lanyard e.g. on rip rocket. You use your ticket to open the locker to put your stuff in and get it out.

There's also mini golf on site if thats your thing.

You can uber/lyft to get around. If your at Universal park and want to use them they have a dedicated space in the parking garage specifically for ride share pick ups its like the top floor and the drivers know to get there.

Mall at Millenia is the closest Mall and will cost approx $8 in an uber, Florida Mall is slightly further away (but is my preferred out of the 2) thats about $15 in an uber. Walmart on Turkey lake is around $10 in an uber. The premium outlets about $6 in an uber.

If your going for 7 days I think you will have plenty to occupy yourself - the parks, city walk, a movie, mini golf, shopping and VB

I haven't seen the rooms at Cabana Bay but have been in the public areas. It looked great and definitely a step above the value hotels at Disney. I would happily stay there for a week by myself. If you are happy to get the occasional UBER it would be a good location IMO. There is a WalMart at Turkey Lake Rd. It is too far to walk but wouldn't cost much by UBER.
