Waitlist
Although we have been members for many years we have never bothered waitisting before . Did it for the first time for our March trip as I fancied VGF- and it came through this afternoon ! I am so excited , never thought it would work for a minute 😃
My question is did I just get lucky or is it always worth giving it a go ?

I waitlisted last week - I checked myself last night and the room I wanted was was available, so its also worth just keeping an eye yourself. I never got any notification via waitlist so have now cancelled this.

I waitlisted BLT at NY (most difficult time to book for TOTWL).
Next day or so I 'stalked' the website. It actually came up before the waitlist was filled, so I changed my booking manually. If I hadn't 'stalked' it may have been missed. But I've also had a waitlist come through when I wasn't stalking. The way it allegedly works is the software does a pass morning and night. If it picks up your waitlist then it takes that room out of inventory. Thus there is a window where stalking wins out between these two passes of the software. However the software picking it out is not the end of the story. That match goes into a holding area and has to be manually triggered by a CM. There are reports of many people not having wait lists matched, calling up to be then told it is matched, then actioned only when they call. I think we can assume that without the call, they would eventually have got around to it, but if you have a waitlist that is not matched, certainly call and check before you go. |

I got a standard grand Floridian studio room for 3&4th July via waitlist however for waitlists I made for old key west & animal kingdom safari studio rooms I had been stalking relentlessly and got them without the waitlist being fulfilled. I feel waitlisting is down to pot luck and I’d rather check availability myself than rely on a waitlist to come through
