I've just rented out some at £10 but that was because I had them in holding so they needed to be used by end of Nov.
Seems to be what UK owners are asking per point. I remember before Dave’s came along that £8-£9 was around right for uk rentals. When I rented at £9.50 a point I thought I was expensive. The next points i rent out will more for sure.

I think this is one of the reasons so few people rent on here these days! If I rent through David’s they charge $18 (£14.69) and give me $14.50 (£11.83), and do all of the work for me! If I was going to rent directly I’d be doing more work and have more risk so it would have to be worth my while. I would probably ask £13 - £13.50. Both parties would still be benefitting!

Edited to add: even though I’m a UK owner I would still probably rent my points on a predominately US forum if I was going to do it directly as there is nothing unusual about asking $17 dollars on there.

I will also add that the rental agents like David's cannot rent you points they dont have. I tried to book a week in a two bedroom BLT for next Augustand they simply didn't have the points even though there was availability.

Luckily I asked for point on here and did the booking through a lovely DIBB member so dont believe because you have done the application you will, get a booking.

There is a bit more safety with David’s. I have use them to rent out my points. I get a proportion up front then rest on check in day. When I put mine in they are rented out within the week there is a lot of demand. So much easier for me that way.

I too am always surprised at how low points often rent for. There can be a lot of work involved, with bombardment of requests for 1 or 2 nights. I’d put something in the listing about minimum nights if I did it, but suspect you’ll still be bombarded with requests. There’s a loss of the element of safety for the renter doing it direct.
When I used David’s the bulk of my points went literally within hours, and the same day I had a very healthy PayPal balance. It was virtually zero effort so to rent direct has to be worth my while.
Given David’s give me £12 a point, I think I’d have to put them up at £14 a point to begin justifying all the hassle.
The renter gets a decent deal still because they get the booking they want in these times of David’s seemingly often low on points.
Also dues went up a lot last year and will again this year. David’s et al has lagged behind with price increases not matching the dues increases. His prices will have to go up soon. The fact he can’t get enough points would indicate prices should already have gone up.
