Paying for dues

Hi all,
We are relatively new dvc members and are starting to think about paying our dues in January. How do you all pay for yours? I know I’m not going to get the best rate with my credit card, is there another way?

I used to use my linked credit card to pay them each year.

However this year I pay Monthly via the DVC website whatever amount I fancy paying having regard to the exchange rate. For example I'm paying a lot more this Month

The Card is foreign transaction fee free.

I pay a little bit of mine every month so that when the bill comes in January I have nothing to pay.
Easy to do just log onto your DVC account and click on your annual dues and choose how much you want to pay.
I pay with my credit card which has no overseas transaction fees.

We pay monthly via our US bank account we set up when we first got DVC. We transfer using Revolut.

You could pay using something like a Revolut card that gives the bank inter rate to get the best rates.

OP. I think a lot will hinge on how many Points you have and thus the final amount due.

For example with 100 Points you may decide to pay a bit each quarter or take a gamble with a one off amount in January
Mangnify those Points to a bigger amount and the pressure to ease the burden is incrementally increased. That's my problem.

I pay monthly with my Halifax Credit Card which doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees.

I like paying this way which means I have either little or nothing to pay when the bills are produced.

We paid using our Creation card last year (similar to the Halifax one but not as big a company so we’re switching). This year we’ve paid off a small amount each month, then rented some points and bought Disney cards using PayPal to pay off a lump sum. Hopefully we’ll be enough in credit by the end of the year to cover the whole amount.

Another one who pays monthly in advance. Basically work out what your dues were this past year, divide by 11 and make that payment per month. Then when they are published you will have just the difference to pay (maybe 5% more). It’s a good way to do it as it’s all paid up and you are not left with a big bill. You also hedge the exchange rate.
If you get a Halifax or Post Office credit card, you get the proper MasterCard foreign exchange rate without fees, which is basically the same as the inter bank rate. Then use it on holiday as well.

We used to use our Halifax clarity card but now pay from our US bank account. We sometimes rent points out so the money goes in there for dues and spends. Didn’t realise I could pay monthly. Might do that next year.
