Mobile *RUMOUR* Big price rises coming on 'sold out' resorts.

Looks like they are trying to really push Riviera if this is believed:

dvcfan/2019/10/23/rumore...rice-increase/

$300+ for Beach Club? Can't see many biting for a 23+ year contract for that.

Oh well, I'm done buying now so I assume it may push up the value of my SSR points. If the raises are as big as rumoured, I imagine it will push up the resale market values a bit.

I'm just glad that we bought in when we did in 2016. We got 120 points at SSR for $84 per point and then added on 50 direct in 2017.

Mmm. If I can sell my SSR points for $200+ I'm gone!

That will give me donkeys years of Villa stays in better accommodation and also save me a ton per annum in dues. No brainer.

Bring it on.

Wow! Just wow. Those would be crazy prices and don’t seem like they’d “fix” the problem if the reason for not buying Riviera is the resale restriction.
So pleased our resale has already completed now.

Ha ha I think that's a bit optimistic Tom. My guess is direct SSR will rise to circa $190? Maybe raise resale to about $120 this year if economy does well.

Hmmmmm...

I can only see this working for Disney if it goes hand in hand with a far more aggressive ROFR policy, which surely would mean buyers both direct and retail would be really deterred from making a purchase, making it far more difficult to sell.

Or am I getting this totally wrong?

One report now saying $50 per point being added across the board, but unconfirmed rumor. That would even push SSR to what, $215 a point?

But there will surely be limited buyers at the rumoured prices- and DVD need to sell the points, so will ROFR actually reduce?

You could well be right. All I know is my head hurts trying to work out all the possible outcomes.
