Yes, if he's upgraded to the adult dining plan you can pay oop if he wants to eat from the child's menu and save the credits

This what I plan to do as I have a very fussy 12 yr old who will prob enjoy the kids menu more and a DS who is 8 that I have upgraded to DDP adult. We are going to OOP some of the table service, we will have extra credits to do a breakfast & diner or one of the dinner shows!

This is brilliant advice as always Vickie we are planing on paying oop for sci-fi as the kids loved it there last time, where would you recommend to eat at HS with the QS? As we'll probably be there 1 full day & half a day.& obviously our 2 days at universal will be oop, but we hope to use a QS credit for breakfast those mornings.

hi and thanks for a great thread! I have already bombarded Vicky with lots of questions (thanks Vicky you are a star )
I do think the more info the better as I don't want to waste any of my credits... I have a couple if questions too My youngest will turn 3 when we return home so he does not need a disney ticket (saves £299 but that means he doesn't get any credits ) because we are only staying on site for 5 days we decided it was not worth getting him a ticket as he would not eat £299 worth of food in five days but... Will it look really bad if he shares from our plates (TS) or would they give us a little plate? (My other 2 children will be 10&12 so they will get adults meals but probably won't finish so he could share with them but he will want his 'own ' plate or he will be upset I imagine We always go to crystal palace on our first morning and they top up the drinks throughout our stay, the DDP says 1 drink so will we get charged for 'top ups' of coffee and juice? I assume we still pay a tip on the meals, do you just pay this like you would usually pay the bill? At the QS and TS can you have ANYTHING from the menu or is the choice limited like on most UK meal deals? Vicky assures me that there is plenty of food but we are a greedy bunch and my concern is breakfast time, we are all in one room with I doubt has a fridge and my daughter is type 1 diabetic so can't miss meals really ( odd time would be ok) so what do you all usually do for breakfast? Last question I promise (for now anyway ) the re fill cup you get, can this only be filled at resorts, NOT PARKS? and is there sugar free options (but not just diet coke), my daughter can only drink sugar free or water and I take medication every morning with I take with water (am I better buying so e bottles and keeping them in the room, even though they will be warm ) Thanks everyone and I am looking forward to lots of hints and tips |

What wonderful info - thank you.
It's been a while since we visited WDW but all the offers at the moment is making me think of adding 5 nights pre cruise next May. We were looking at the free QS plan but the option is to upgrade for £130 - the main factor for me to upgrade would be if we could use the TS credits for character meals, so does anyone have an idea how much a character meal would be per adult? Previously, we have dined at Crystal Palace, Tusker House, Chef Mickey - are there any other ones now, and costs? Sorry if these are basic Q's but it's a bit of a spur of the moment thought!

Great thread, thank you.
My question is regarding the QSDDP, we went last year and had this plan and have got it for our 2016 trip too, reading the thread however I don't think we used our QSDDP as well as we could of. We had breakfast at the hotel every morning (CBR), for us the choice was fine and the portions large so we often only grabbed a snack for lunch. For dinner we ate at two TS restaurants, T-Rex and Planet Holleywood, we paid for these meals. We did have lunch one day at Be our Guest and again paid for this. For our next trip, I'd be grateful of any suggestions on how we can best use our credits, for example could we eat at a TS restaurant such as Plant Hollywood or Be our Guest and use our QS credits towards the cost of the meal? Thank you xx |
