Anyone hired a car from Miami airport?
We are flying to Miami and I have heard the car hire places aren't on the airport, is this right?
Is there a preferable car hire company to use? Who have you used before? |

There is a 'mover' to get you to the rental companies. This tells you all about it.

Just head to the 3rd floor once you've cleared immigration and have your luggage. The mover takes you straight in to the transport hub which services the rental vehicles, buses and trains. The vehicle rental company desks are all to your left. Once you've been in there, you go to the relevant level for your chosen car company.
Alamo everytime for me. You get to skip the car rental desks and pick your own vehicle from your chosen category. |

You get on a monorail that takes you over to the car rentals and they are all in there together.
A bit of a hike so allow yourself plenty of time on your return. Access onto the road system is easy. |

We have used both Avis and Alamo at Miami - Alamo is always our preferred option but we have had great flydrive deals including the car with Avis so used them a couple of times and they have been just fine.

We hired through Avis via BA this summer. Was really easy to navigate after collecting our bags, even if it is a bit of a trek to the care hire desks! You go to the 3rd floor once collected your bags and get the Miami mover over to the rental desks and once sorted there go to the relevant level for the garage you require. Simple as. We are Avid preferred members so can go straight to the garage rather than the desk.

Hi There not exactly right on the airport there is a Mover (Monarail that takes you to the garage where most of the big names are housed
Miami International Airport now gets passengers from the runway to the roadway faster than ever before with the MIA Mover, a 1.25-mile-long automated people mover system between MIA and the Miami Rental Car Center miami-airport/cip_mia_mover.asp

Ahh, our friend that used to fly there said they had to get a bus, but this was obviously before the monorail was built. Thanks all, very helpful
