First time renting car with child under 1
Hi
I'm due to go back to Florida at the end of June and this time I'm staying at a villa so will need to rent a car. We will also be travelling with a 10 month baby. Ive seen there is so many websites that offer cars, baby seats etc, but I'm unsure which one to go through. Has anyone any advice in general. What type of car to go for with 3 adults which includes myself and then the child. I'm also flying into MCO. Would people recommend hiring the baby seat prior to arriving at the airport. What website is the cheapest but most trustworthy? Any other tips when I'm renting a car for the first time? Any advice would be great. Thanks Mark... |

Mark. The first bit of advice I will give you is take your own seat. I have just created a page on the Dibb Guidebook that may help you.
https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/Chi...es-p-1521.html Secondly if you do rent a seat then use the bigger companies like Alamo, Avis, Hertz as they have decent stuff and if there is a problem with the seat they have loads of others stacked up. You will need either a full size car or an SUV but don't forget the luggage and I assume a pushchair? That tends to push you more towards an SUV as at least you dont have to try and shut a boot lid! If you go onto the Dibb Guidebook there are loads of 'pages' that will help you in the Travel section. For example - Driving in Florida, Rental Cars, Toll Pass scheme. In your situation I would have a read of those first then pop back on with specific questions. Alamo Brits is a good starter for ten to get your head around prices. alamo/brits

The safest option is to take your own Car Seat. The little one will be comfy in their own chair but more importantly you know who to restrain and fit the seat properly and can also be sure it hasn't been involved in any accidents.
