Garmin USA download

Hi,can anyone tell me if the Usa download from their own website has free updates included for this map download,not sure how it works,thanks

Try garmin express on your pc to get the update. I bought one from American sat navs (above) and updated this way.

From memory, I think the site gives 2 options, the cheaper being a one off download and the more expensive allows you to download free updates.

thanks for the replies,yes it seems if you want yo update ,say a year later ,you have to pay.Not going down that route then

I had this problem a couple of years ago, I ended up getting a used usa TomTom with free lifetime updates from eBay.com (USA). And all it cost was £24 including postage. The seller was a pawnbrokers in Brooklyn new york, works a treat.

eBay have US maps on SIM cards to fit Garmin for under £20
Was thinking getting one
Luckily DD still has garmin I gave her when we upgraded all company cars to built in satnav as standard

thanks again for replies,since I found out that you have to pay for updates I was then looking at the pre loaded USA sim card of Ebay as Geordie boy 57 mentioned, but now I have found out most new Uk Garmins with free lifetime update have a new security lock which stops you adding 3rd party maps via sim card.We have a 2519 LM .Think we are now going to just buy a new one from Walmart when over there.
