Putting windows on a Mac computer ?

Now I'm not remotely techy and I always thought that I couldn't have a Mac as i have to use windows. However I was reading that you can run or download a programme to assign part of your computer to windows? Have I got this right? If so is it fairly straightforward and does it work?

Many thanks in advance if anyone can help.

hi
you can use a VM player, called "VMware fusion." This will allow you to create a "virtual computer" inside your mac. This will be like a blank pc, on which you can install windows like any other PC. This is standard practise in business to cut sown on the number of actual devices a company will need.
Its not free and you would also need a version of windows. "virtualbox" does something similar...

Hi

Thank you so much for posting, I had forgotten to pop back to update my post. I went for it in the end, in the apple store they recommended parallels so I got that. I struggled a bit getting the windows onto it once I had downloaded it, but those nice people at parallels accessed my computer and did it all for me( I will never ceased to be impressed how they do that) I wish I had made the move to a mac ages ago... I
was worried it would be really hard to change over but I love it.

it all depends what you want exactly, but bootcamp is your best bet
