Within 100 yards of one another in the Metro centre Gateshead you have

Handmade Burger Co
Byrons
Gourmet Kitchen
TGI Fridays
5 Guys

Surely out of those 5 guys is the last one you would go to?

Always wanted to try them but my son has peanut allergy so never have. Are they less expensive in Florida?

Another fan of five guys! There's one opening in Disneyland Paris next week, & I'm very excited as we go at Easter!

We always share fries and a drink in there, the fries are huge and the drinks are refillable so no point in buying two! We've had one in our local shopping centre (Trafford centre) for a couple of years now, always really enjoyed it!

On any list of places to eat TGIs would always be last for me. Not impressed with Gourmet Kitchen either as burgers there are always dry and tasteless. Not been to Byrons or Handmade so will look out for those.

Yeah, GBK is pretty rubbish and TGIs wouldn't feature for me.
Byron was ok. If you're into burgers you'll probably like it. DS really liked it.
It's much more expensive than Five Guys though as I posted earlier in the thread.

I guess it depends what you class it as alternate to, for me I rank it with Nando's I would have it over Burger King, or Nando's or something, but only when I'm expecting to pay eating out prices, not take away prices, I like it a lot.

For those who want to compare to American prices, it's about what it is in pounds in dollars (so $6 instead of £6) but when you've been looking at Disney park prices instead, seems pretty cheap considering the quantity of food!

We have one near us but only go there as a treat as it is expensive for fast food. It's not so bad if you take everything on your burger, but if you're like our daughter and only want a plain burger, it's really not worth it.

We also share juice and fries.

Nope it would be TGI's..

The menu isn't a patch on what it used to be and I find it very expensive for what it is.
