family of 7. share or car each?

We have a dilema. our family consists of us 4 (2a & 2c), plus mother/father in law & nephew (2a &1c). This is our first holiday to Florida and were staying in a villa together but were about to book the car or cars and have a few issues. First is car sickness, 3/4 of us get car sick on longer trips like to and from the airport and when we go to clearwater for the day. 1 member has to always sit in front so no flexibility for any other sufferers. Its more convenient if we have a 7seater but the doge grand caravan boot looks pretty small for at least 4 large suitcase plus other bags etc. Were all going to parks together so parking fees will be halved or doubled depending on what we do. I dont fancy being a back seat passenger tbh but will do if needs be. Has anyone got any advice or thoughts on this? or experience? Were staying 10mins away from disney so short journeys are ok with carsickness. Also will it be better if someone wants to go home earlier than others? bit more flexible? Also i should say were booking car with alamo and theres not a massive price difference for each group if we do have a car each. (£35) and the car parking will be $200 if we go to plan

No ifs or buts. 2 cars. More flexibility ref being together or not. No rigid timetable for all to stick to, can experience different cuisine in the evenings, less back seat passengers, more luggage space
Also nice to be on your own as a Family at times
No way could I have 'lived 24/7' with my parents for 2 weeks by choice way back when

If our boys or friend come out we tend to have 1 7seater and a small car easier all round

Helen. Do what my Wife does. Refuse to drive at all!
Her expression is ''I dont keep a dog and bark myself''

I actually don't think she has driven for over 10 years, maybe more?

Hi thanks for your reply. It made me laugh. I agree< 24/7 is alot of time together and maybe by having 2 cars just gives us all a bit of breathing space

I totally agree with Tom - we did do 1 car once (for 7) but luggage was a nightmare with all the seats in use,

Hi thanks, thats a really good idea, have 1 7seater and another car so then we have the option of going to some places all together and also just us 4 in the other car should we wish. The only thing is itll cost quite abit more to do this. £310 x2 for 2 small cars or 275 each (4 & 3) for 1 7seater or possibly doing what you suggest would be £310 for 1small car and £550 ish but if we divided the total between us and them it would be about £430 each for the convenience? But if you consider the parking prices at $200 each we could car share for all the park days? But is it really worth paying to hire our own car then just for the airport trip and clearwater? Thats pretty expensive carsickness right? Def a possible option thou. I think well discuss this option with the in laws and see what we can come up with. Thanks again

The Dodge is not a small car, but luggage will be tight. There are 6 of us, so 6 cases plus hand luggage. We would fold one seat into the floor ( they have stow and go seats) thats the only way it would fit.

This is the inside of the vehicle looking back

This is the boot with a 10 year old in!

Hi Thanks for sharing the photos, they really give yyou a good idea of the boot size. Looking at it i feel we wont be able to fit the elecrtric scooter were hiring for the 2weeks. It folds into 3/4 parts but with all 7 of us in seats theres going to be a tight squeeze in the boot. The suitcases will only be in the car from and back to the airport and the scooter will be dropped of at our villa. Ill show my father in law so he can see for himself the actual space well be getting with the dodge. Thanks everyone for the replies. I still dont know if im replying ok or not, im new to this and its seems complicated x
