We have put the occasional holiday on credit/ loan and paid afterwards. I have a friend whose favourite quote is" you're a long time dead", and I agree

Our last hol to Florida , I used a 0%credit card to pay for the park tickets and paid it off over the next 12 months.
This upcoming Florida hol in Oct is paid for ( well it's in the bank to pay balance when due) Inc tickets. All we need to save for is spending money/food costs between now and Oct.
Fortunately the job I'm in pays bonus payments each month depending on performance so that's what's paid for the hols. I can nearly double my pay on good weeks.

My partners favourite quote is " there's no pockets in shrouds"
She is in palliative care.

we may have 1000 or so on a CC by time we get back but want to fit as much in as possible as who knows when we will be back so its worth it for us owing a small amount on return... life is short

I have done in the past and would be prepared to in the future depending on the circumstances. It would have to be short term and I would have to be sure that the payments were manageable but I honestly don’t see the difference between using a c/c on holiday and buying anything else on credit.

We did also spend £1,000 on the Halifax card and pay it back when the bill came. We needed a big blow out last year after losing my mum, retail therapy helped a lot!

If others are comfortable with debt for a holiday fine but it’s not for me.
I do agree with you completely. But people need a car to take them from A-B, they don’t need £300 a month car leases/loans/PCP’s, often by people who can’t afford a deposit for a house

I have done before and I'd 100% never ever do it again now, it's not worth it, I'd just save longer if I was looking to book something rather than had booked and would make sure I already had all the cash in the bank.

Wouldn't worry me as long as I could pay the holiday off within a few months after. Life's too short and you never know what's round the corner x
