Sutton Hoo

For anyone who has seen the Netflix film ‘The Dig’ we took a walk to Sutton Hoo today just up the road from where we live.

It was a good two hour circular route, and beautifully quiet, we saw some baby lambs, and the burial mound where the Anglo Saxon ship was found.

Louise. We watched the Dig about 2 weeks ago. What a brilliant 'feel good' film, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Some stunning scenery and I am ashamed to admit I knew nothing about the area or the find. I do now though as I spent ages researching it after watching the film

Last time I was there was on a school trip and it felt weird not having a ‘work sheet’ of questions in my hand as we walked around!

I used to love a school trip... special packed lunch (wagon wheel if lucky) and bit of pocket money for a ruler or something at the end! Happy times...
