OP, look at different times of the year for flights, Easter and summer holidays are usually expensive, mid-week is normally cheaper to fly. Look at indirect, there can be some good flight prices. With regards to accommodation, we stay in a villa as it suits us as we enjoy space and wind down time. There are quite a few villa areas and there are Dibb villas. Condos are another possibility. You may be happy to stay in a hotel, some of these have kitchen areas with cooker, fridge/freezer and washing machines etc.

The op has indicated that price is very important maybe it isn’t to you but to him it is and booking too far ahead certainly before flights have been released will never give you the best price.
I wasn't telling the OP to book early, just saying that we do as that is what we prefer. We get a price that we are happy with. I wouldn't tell anyone to book, or not book, the choice is theirs at the end of the day, I as well as others can advise.

Sounds like the perfect excuse to plan a return trip in a few years.

Hi, we go 1st time on 21st of this month, 2 adults 1 child of 7. We have a villa in Kissimee 3bed pools etc mustang or some type of convertible and flights with virgin. Just doing disney as little one not interested in anything else. Booked through Ocean Florida who have been really helpful. Cost so far is just under 6k without spends. Hope that helps.

I agree with pretty much everything on here - and it's only through experience you get to know the hints and tips. I'll just be honest with you now, you'll go and immediately get home and start planning your next visit - it's infectious and there's a reason the DIBB only continues to get bigger...

The post about £2kpp is pretty much spot on. I'd really reccomend getting a Starling Card (starlingbank/travel/) to pay for things when you're out there. It means you get the business rate when you purchase anything rather than converting your currency at home and taking cash. For example £1000 at 1.31 (todays business rate) compared to 1.27 (Supermarket exchange rate) - gives you an extra £25/30 quid. Seems small but it all adds up.

In terms of tickets - FloridaTix/Attractions Tickets Direct often do 5% sales around Christmas/Easter too.

I'd also recommend looking at Cashback websites like TopCashback or Quidco when booking flights/hotels.

Someone has also eluded to booking late with TUI - you obviously have to be brave. But for example if you went on September 1st this year you can get Disney's All Star Sports plus flights for £884pp - not including tickets but for 5 people would bring you in at £6600... No car hire needed/car park fees, access to Extra Magic Hours. But it is also nice to have your own Villa too...

Happy planning!
