7 mistakes--ocean florida

Please can someone reassure me.
I travel next Monday. I booked around 18 months ago with this company who. Assured me they were abta and atol protected.
So far...
1, without my permission they divulge full details of my holiday to my mum enabling her to book the same holiday as us. My issue is not her coming, it is my details being given out, she could have been anyone and I'm going through a really nasty divorce right now.
2, I was assured that I could prebook seats 30 days in advance for free. I phone 34 days before to ask how I do this to be called a liar until they listened to my call. The seats are then booked, or so I'm led to believe.
3, I'm promised an email to confirm seats which didn't arrive until chased up on Friday.
4, 9 days before I travel I phone to ask why I haven't received travel documents and I'm told they were emailed to me. They definitely were not. They resend them. At this time I get them to send the email regarding seats.
5, I look at my documents, flight arrives 1515, collection from airport booked for 1815. Going home flight leaves 1720, collection from hotel 1615. I phone and am told not to worry, by now I demand a new sheet printed.
6, I then look at my flight document and the dreamliner that I'm told three times during the booking phonecall isn't our flight. I then do research and thomas cook don't even have dream liners. I phone to discuss this and again they'll have to listen back to my call. Maybe sounds silly but my son aged 7 loves planes and wanted to go. On. A dreamliner. I'm still waiting on them to listen to the call to confirm that I, their customer am actually telling the truth.
7, I look at the flight document again and despite being all female, I'm booked as Mr with typos in first and surname.


I am due to fly on 10th September and am stressed out of my mind. I now have no confidence whatsoever in this company but wonder where I can take my complaint?

Wow, you have had a lot of issues

I can assure you they are a legit company, I used then in 2015 and 2017 and had no issues what so ever.

The only thing I didn't like is I didn't get the booking reference till 30 days out, so couldn't book my seats earlier.

Sorry you have had such a ≈≈≈≈ time with them, lets hope it gets better

The one that jumped out a me was the typo on your names. As far as I am aware. Names must match Passport!


As for the rest, I too would be mightily concerned. Data protection comes into play re your mother so I’d go down that route
issue monetary penalty notices, requiring organisations to pay up to £500,000 for serious breaches of the Data Protection Act occurring on or after 6 April 2010. prosecute those who commit criminal offences under the Act; and.

I probably sound like a moaning Minnie but this was supposed to be the holiday of a life time and it's turned really stressful.

No not at all, I would be p***ed too

I would demand to speak to a manager, and explain your concerns, especially with timings and typos.

Holiday countdowns are supposed to be exciting not stressful, really feel for you

Thank you. I've asked to speak to a manager, the best I get is a superviser who is in meetings all day long apparently.

I've yet to speak to the superviser.

I'm frustrated that I'm never truthful in their eyes until they've listened to the calls and then they fix the problem but don't really apologise.
I think I'm actually beyond frustrated.

Hi, just some reassurance i've just returned home yesterday from our holiday booked with Ocean Florida and it was amazing. we had a 4 bed villa (allocation on arrival) and the villa was the best i have had since going to Florida! i know this doesn't help with the issues you have had but hope it gives you some piece of mind that they do get things right!
