ID for Universal

Just ordered my sons ticket for Universal, it says photo id required so will his driving licence do or should he take his passport?

We only had to show ID when we had a problem with the finger print machine at the turnstile, I showed my driving license and they accepted that.

ID was needed every time with my annual pass this year; driving license was accepted no problem

Sorry to hijack the thread. For a child, do they accept the parent’s ID? Or do we need to carry a passport?

We most definitely have never needed to produce ID. I know this for sure as we don't carry our wallet / purse to the parks and passports go straight into the safe.

My mum and son both had to show their driving licenses this year when their ticket and finger print didn’t work properly at the turnstile so might be worth taking your driving license just in case.

We were asked once to show our own ID for our youngest daughter when her fingerprint wasn't working. We had issues everyday with her scanning, normally they just re-registered it apart from that one occasion. They didn't ask for her ID just either me or my husband, we showed my Husbands driving licence which was accepted.

We had issues with my sons finger at universal and they asked for our ID not his, but he does have a photo id in the form of a Merlin Annual pass which has the name , photo and DOB and they were more than happy to accept that. Personally I have used a Costco membership card in the past as well.
