It’s a pain but not the end of the world. We always charged ours overnight anyway and only swapped if this hadn’t been possible. I find if I get around 50% of my phone charge from one fuel rod which is ample for what I need during the day.
I prefer these over others we have that I take on Scout camps. Those are far larger and I plug my watch and phone in overnight. I wouldn’t want to be carrying that around during the day though!

$3 to swap.
Starts November 1st. Bad move imo. I bought one for the convenience factor years ago, but without the free swaps I’ll just revert to my normal way better power bank.

Apparently its blamed on us as usual. Its said too many people are putting incompatible items in and the maintenance is way too high.

I'd be looking at some sort of refund of a couple of free one's to have them available on rotation during a day at the park. These things don't have enough charge to be useful if you can't swap then on-demand.
Typical Disney - not making enough money on it - get it in the sea. |

I notice today there is a law suit issued against disney for breach of contract as sold as unlimited refills. So probably if you have one already you could be ok just new purchases are expected to be covered.

I'm not surprised, it's typical Disney trying to make more money out of absolutely anything.
I've always used an Anker power bank on my trips it has been brilliant. |

If they can't be swapped for free then they are an utter waste of money.
I got mine a couple of trips ago so have got my money's worth out of it, but I'll be taking a proper power bank next time. |

But it's not Disney that's making this change - although they do benefit from it.
The company behind these FuelRods had already introduced this charge at other places where they were sold/replaced. Disney World was actually one of the few places where they hadn't introduced this charge.

This is a real shame, I've gotten a couple of trips out of mine but the reason I was ok with paying $30 was the swapping feature, you can obviously get a far better charger for less money. I will probably still take mine and charge it before going out as a back up as they are nice and light and small to go in my park bag.
I wouldn't be surprised if the lawsuit is won. It was false advertising really and if there was a disclaimer then it definitely wasn't clear, I took a photo of the machine when I purchased and I can't see any mention on there!
