Walmart did not take our in 2014, which was a PITA

and the Vans shop didnt know what they were, took them about 20 mins to take them

We have always used travellers cheques, but had mixed results using them in November, even in Epcot
Next time will take cash and credit card as a back up.

I used TCs with very few problems in November/Dec last year .. we always made sure that we had the cash in reserve at restaurants but usually it was fine with ID (but it doesn't hurt to have a cash back up)

I figured if worst came to the worst we could cash $500 each a day at Walmart suntrust but in the end this was not needed ..

I have had money stolen from CCs in Orlando so would never use them myself

Travellers Cheques may seem old fashihed (like me!) but they are safe, accepted in millions of locations and easilly replaced if lost or stolen. My view would be if you don't accept them as a retailer then I don't shop with you.

Thank goodnesss for someone:-
1 - doesn't like prepaid cards
2 - likes travellers cheques
3 - is old like me... sorry I ment fashioned!

Nothing old fashioned about travellers cheques! We are credit card users but would never use prepaid cards on holiday!

Always used TC's and will probably do that when we go this year. I've never used a pre-pay card but my sister did last year when we went to New York and she couldn't get any money from a cash machine. I'm not sure what the ended up being down to but she changed her PIN number which was fine but the card provider had changed some details that she had to re-register or something like that but the co-op who sold her the card weren't aware of any changes so never told her. It worked if she wanted to pay for anything in a shop cus she only had to sign and not input her PIN number !
