Should have taken my Daughter with you. She haggled £1000 off a Mexico holiday in the Virgin store in Manchester - I trained her so well.
She rang me so pleased and I told her to go back and get the V Room free, she did but failed!

Its done now but its a learn for next time. Im really up front travel agents, i tell them im booking today, if the price is right. Show them my online quote, then tell them to beat it. I dont ask. If they start digging their heals in, i start booking it online on my phone, they soon discount! You'd be suprised what they do for a booking

I found my holiday cheaper with Thomas Cook today and took the print out and Virgin beat the price by 1p 😊

I assume they earn extra from commission in store? A complete disincentive for excellent customer service. If you're booking a trip where the main retailer is a randomer the safety offered by a large third party retailer can be worth it. When your main sellers are massive airlines and the WDW company not so much. Go DIY.

I had to pay the balance of our trip this week. I usually just phone with CC. As a virgin travel shop was in the area that I was in I went and asked if I paid the balance in their store could I have the V room free.
The women brought my details up on the computer, went off to talk to manager and came back and informed me that sorry they would have to charge, asked how much... 1 pence each. Bargain that I could not refuse. 😁😁

It did cost me £25 more than online for her handling fee but I was more than happy with that as I can now go in ask questions if I need to and have the V room. I think this may be a lesson learnt this time for you
This is what I do, go in armed with a quote I'd be happy to pay and see if they can beat it. If not, well then i've a choice to make.
I'd query it in the shop but I doubt you will get a reduction now. Put it down to experience.

It may be too late, but go and ask anyway. Take the online price with you and ask to speak to the manager. Worth a go.
