We always travel last week of July and 1st week of August.

To try and answer your questions...

1. We stay on site so others will have a better idea, but using the wdw buses they go through the same turnstiles just to the side and I've never noticed more than 3 cars waiting. So I don't see this being an issue for you.

2. Don't think I've ever waited 10 minutes for QS meal...We've eaten at all the usual places. Columbia harbour house, Gastons Tavern, Caseys corner in MK, back lot express and starring rolls at HS, loads of the world showcase at Epcot, Restaurantasaurus and yak and yeti QS at AK. The only places we've had longer than 10 minutes waiting is at the Starbucks bakerys.

3. Obviously we have 60 day fast passes. But when in the parks we like to book 4th and 5th FP when we've used our first 3. We got 7dmt as a 4th fast pass so they do come up and as long as you're not picky about the timing you are able to snag the big FP even on the day. Same thing happened with test track, expedition everest and rocknroller coaster.

4. Water parks all slides were pretty much walk ons in the first 2 hours of opening then got busier towards lunch time so we tend to go on the big slides first then lazy rivers or wave pool from about 11 ish. We don't normally stay all day and tend to go after lunch so I don't know if they stay busy all day or drop off in the evening.

We love it in august, it's hot, but there is air con everywhere. There will be a torrential downpour in the afternoons, not every day, but probably 7 out of the 14 we are there. But usually it lasts less than 20 minutes. This is the time to go watch the nemo show or beauty and the beast...sometimes we don't even know it's happened and as we come out from an attraction we will see some puddles, but these also dry up within 20 minutes so it's not really a problem. Maybe use this time to go eat or shop.

Good luck with the planning

We have been in may twice, October once and august. We are going again this August. I didn't like October, the theming in the parks was amazing but it wasn't hot enough for me. I found myself shivering when I came out the pool. We were unlucky in may. Went may 2009 and we had torrential rain for 10 days! Think it actually broke records over there. Even the locals couldn't believe it. We loved august. It is hot and it's humid but the air con makes it manageable. There was rain everyday I think and thunder but it was over fairly quickly and was a welcome relief from the heat. We are going for 3 weeks so we have plenty of time for water parks and pool so can take it easy.

Just to say that the last time we went in august (2013) it wasn't busy at all. We did notice a massive difference in the last 2 weeks in august. We went to dhs one night and toy story mania was a walk on. We rode 4 times in a row. Previous times we have been the queue has been 90mins.
