help please

looks like we need to rethink our dates ,we normally go first 2 weeks in October but eldest dd starts collage this September and they are more strict about taking them out then schools are she is only allowed 5 days out of term time or she can be kicked off her course so looking at October half term 2018 but the schools have not released there holiday dates yet so cannot book anything.my question is how busy is it in half term because last October (first 2 weeks )was jam packed and did not get everything we wanted done (hurricane did not help )
