Magic Bands

Hi all.
We went to Disney in 2014 and stayed on-site so had magic bands, I know that magic bands have recently changed, so now that we're due to be going back in June will we get new ones or will we just use the old ones? Thanks in advance x

I think that if you're staying on-site you will have new ones.

Yes, if you are staying onsite you will. Offsite, you can always buy and link them

Yes we're staying on-site. I've been on MDE and the details for our old ones are still there so I wasn't sure if we'd still have to use those.

My old ones were still showing when I went last year, but I was given new ones which I used. Are the new ones showing in your MDE account?

We only booked a couple of weeks ago, we've been really fortunate to be able to go again and my mom has all the details, so I've not tried to link anything yet. I'm going to get the details today and put them in

You can get new ones with each on-site stay.

But your old ones will also still work! (Though there are some reports that the battery runs out after a couple of years, meaning that they will still work for short-range things like opening room doors, charging to room, photopass, but won't work for long-range things like automatic ride photos on 7DMT)

I�ve personalised my magic bands this week. We last went
In 2016 and I bought a Minnie band. Disney have said my old band is still
Active. Il get another when we arrive ❤️
