Have got no recommendations, but how annoying when you booked so far in advance! I don’t get how a villa owner can accidentally double book.

Extremely disappointing that this has happened and especially with someone who is a Dibb member. If it was me I would be identifying who it was let you down to avoid people making the same mistake with this individual.

I wouldn't.
This happened to me admittedly it was a few days not a few months after I'd booked that the dibb owner let me know and he was clearly very embarrassed about it. I did post about it as I needed to find another , which I did but I could see from his posts here that he was one of the good guys, it was an honest mistake and my deposit was refunded very promptly. I saw no reason to name and shame. These things happen and it has all worked out OK and who knows I might want to book his villa another year !

We have stayed at the same villa many times and I believe it has been a genuine mistake. We are all human and make mistakes. I was devastated yesterday and struggled to find somewhere that I liked as much and was available. However, we have managed to get a gorgeous one which had just had a cancellation. So, maybe it was meant to be.
