Ha ha. He says send a picture!
He better hurry up as sad to say he is the last person carrying the family surname. My Grandfather was one of 12. between those 12 they had 3 children and only 1 boy being my Dad. We have 2 children and my Son is thus carrying our name on - hopefully!

My son does that. Comes for his dinner on a Sunday then disappears into the garage for a rummage and comes out with toilet rolls, kitchen rolls etc. which we buy in bulk and store there - along with the free M&S dine in deal bottles of wine!

Is he still near to you? I am assuming yes, I know it's a long drive for you to visit his sister.
It's the natural way of things kids leaving but my goodness it hurts. |

Congratulations to your son, Tom.
I bet you’re making sure the carpentry passes muster on the new house.

My darling girl left to go to University at 17 and never came back to live with us. She’s so independent and has always paid her own way - including buying her own flat in London at the age of 25. Love her to bits, but we are too alike, so after 5 days at Christmas we are ready to go our own ways again!

Actually the 2nd fix looks quite good, nice skirtings and architraves etc.
Dont go there ref 1st fix. Since when did they stop using 8 x 2 floor joists and used glued together timber and bloody chipboard! I can accept truss roofs as I used to fit them and they are fine albeit not so good if you want a loft conversion later. But I suppose we must move with the times and all developments in carpentry are approved by TRADA - Timber Research and Development Association

How exciting! The first place that my then boyfriend (now husband!) and I lived in was about 15 minutes away from my parent's house...the next house was about 10 minutes, the next one 5 minutes and now down to about 3 minutes! Even being so close I still get food parcels etc from Mum, but in return DH is always there fixing something for them. My Dad said in his Father of the Bride speech that he is glad I have married someone who can fix things as quickly as my parents can break them! They also visit their 'Grand-dog' every lunchtime to let him out, so living very close by works really well for us! So glad your son is nearby ☺
