Very Tempting, but not worth the risk of almost £1000 to hire a car if it fails.

If there are doubters about the possibility of getting rumbled at the exit after skipping I'll post my experience after 18/7. Out of interest, and it would show the level of knowledge/awareness of the local staff, how many people have ever had to produce one of these Brits guides?

Embraer, please do report back and let us know if you have any issues, if there's a problem I still have plenty of time to cancel and rebook with someone else

Yes it would be great to hear how people get on with these bookings.

If it came to it, MCO has free WiFi so you could just spend 5 mins making a new booking with another link, to start immediately?!

Unless the agent at the exit booth is going to start questioning u then you will be ok they are going to want to get you out the gate as fast as possible. Nowhere on my skip the counter email does it mention any special rates or needing to produce any ID.

I am going on the 5th July and I will report back that night and let you all know. I have done online check in and skip the counter. On the documents all it says is please produce your credit card and drivers license.

When I look at the link I get the following message:

The GBP price shown will be converted into USD using the exchange rate applicable when the vehicle is collected, the USD value displayed is a guideline only and is subject to change.

So seems like a pay at collection option, but if this is the case, can you still use skip the lines ?

I believe so yes Dave, you just need to have a credit card registered for the payment to be taken from.

My only slight concern is that I am picking up from the Westin Hotel in Tampa, but I suspect they're even less likely to understand the special rate or ID. Still going to do the online check in and everything. I'm picking up off a cruise so I guess they will just want us gone.

DH is concerned that our insurance will not be valid if we book it through the BA link. He says he doesn't want any excuse for them not to cover us if the car is damaged. Could this happen or is he wrong and the insurance is totally separate?
