So far, we seem to be the only Avis fans. We book via BA and thus get a discount. We are "Preferred" customers and so go straight to the garage pick up - none of that faffing at desks. Have always got what we booked and have been very satisfied.

Alamo for us but to be fair its the only one we have used. Because it's so easy with save-time, meaning we can skip the counter (and the inevitable up sell) and go straight to the garage to pick our car we will keep going back.

Actually seem to remember using Dollar years ago for our honeymoon and was talked into upgrading the car - I was young and naive back then (and still trying to impress mrsmoo! )

Alamo only because I can choose car most important thing for a petrol head such as me.
OLCI or skip counter is a small bonus but as a regular carhire user through work I have no trouble with the word NO.

2nd that. Every rental with Avis has been easy, quick and great service. Using them again with avios points to use them up in 2 weeks

I've put other as we just go with the least expensive. As long as it has four wheels and gets you about we are ok. Same as the flight and hotel, no real preference as long as they are serviceable.

Although like to chose car agree with geoffa that Avis preferred is great scheme use generally on work based hires ,
Mainly for speed through transit from arrival to carrying on journey.
I have found Avis have a good fleet and everything I have had is generally under 6 months old.
On Leisure travel if not booking a BA flydrive I just pick Alamo for US travel as can choose although all should remember skip counter is not available at every location.
