Put old passport details on, which oddly came back ok a few days before flying. Ended up applying for new esta at the checkin desk :-)

I Just whizzed past all pages looking for a response from OP. Frustrating for those that tried to help to not know the outcome.

That said if they've got away, they've better things to worry about. If they haven't they'd maybe be a bit annoyed, and thus not in the frame of mind to update. So it's understandable on that front.
