  • Castle under development
  • We was going to go to Orlando in 2021 anyway
  • More rides online in 2021
  • Dinning plan in disarray due to changes will hopefully have settled down in 2021
  • We now get to celebrate the 50th anniversary
  • We are still going Orlando in 2020 but now we are doing our 2021 plan this year
Would it be fair to say that you were a fair way down the line of making this change before the castle refurb was announced?

I'd forgotten how much I disliked this castle "make up"!

I really like the art work I've seen for how the castle will look after it's makeover

Sure I'm disappointed that it's going to happen when we are there but it's this sort of on going maitenance and innovation of older attractions that keeps people wanting to return. So, I'm accepting that it does have to happen at some point and as I'd rather they didn't close the parks in order to carry it out it will have to be done during someone's holiday. In fact they do close the water parks over winter one at a time for maintenance and people who travel then don't get a reduced rate on park tickets as only 5 out of 6 are open. I know it's annoying but we do just have to accept it.

Last summer the moat of the castle was drained as they were widening the paths. There was a fair bit of scaffolding, but we managed to avoid it in photos. We've been there when the whole carousel was covered in scrim, which didn't particularly look attractive. So, I do hope it doesn't have a scrim on as I think that is worse than a crane and scaffolding. Fingers crossed for no scrim.

It was the 90’s. I imagine the imagineers were out raving when they had that idea

Just read on another site that Disney have confirmed work will be done at night to cause least disruption. Not sure if I believe that or not!

I suppose the crunch will be if they need scaffolding or not.
