Help me with my last 3 nights!

So struggling with the last three nights of our trip and was looking for suggestions.

We will be hotel hopping to enjoy the many different hotels and benefits they give you but we are a bit stuck on how to finish the holiday. We will be picking up car hire as we are leaving the Renaissance as we will need it for second half of the trip to make it easier to get around some of the other things we want to do and we will still need to do Busch Gardens.

We was thinking of staying in Clearwater but to be honest the hotels don't look great. We need to think about hitting the Tampa Area but we could just drive their and back. So I suppose I am looking for suggestions of something around the Clearwater area and have some beach time or another decent resort around Orlando. Any thoughts ?
  • Cabana Bay - 23rd to 25th May (2 nights) - Volcano Bay
  • Hard Rock - 25th to 29th May (4 nights) - Universal Studios / Islands of Adventure
  • Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld (2 nights) - 29th to 31st May - SeaWorld
  • Margaritaville Resort Orlando (3 nights) - 31st to 3rd June - Disney Springs / 2 x Funspots / H20 Water park
  • ? - 3rd June to 6th June

We like hotels that let you lounge around a pool have waiters bring you drinks.

Or a beach area where you can wonder around beach bars etc...

Any help appreciated

I would recommend the Grand Plaza at St Petes - we stayed there for one night last year and are planning on staying there longer next time. The pool is not very big but the hotel is right on the beach. Included in the resort fee is a cabana (or 2 chairs and an umbrella) a day on the beach. No alcohol is allowed to be taken on the beach but the hotel has a licence where you can be served alcohol from their stand to your cabana. There's also Bongos which is on the beach and is amazing. Check out any of Wizzo's trip reports and you will be convinced!

The parking is including in the resort fee. We had no problems at all parking on the hotel car park. There is a IHOP just across the road for breakfast and a restaurant (name escapes me!) too which is supposed to be good if you get bored of Bongos (which would be hard). The hotel also has a bar right at the top of the hotel plus a revolving restaurant and a breakfast restaurant with buffet. We would have tried them all if we had stayed longer.

Just to add that the rooms in the hotel aren't that special but the facilities and location are.

Yeah put me off actually. Sadly a number of negative trip advisor reports talking about dirty rooms / balconies and noisy air cons. Location is great though.

Thanks for the suggestion but going to keep looking.
