Forgot password for laptop

Hi all
As title we have forgot password on a old xp laptop we need to get on but can’t remember password even with the hint prompt anyone advise how we can reset the laptop to use again

Is your laptop's OS Windows 10? ... if so I think you use your Microsoft account password.
You could open your MS email account on a mobile or other pc and change your password.

Thanks for reply it is windows vista xp I believe

Hi, I found these instructions online for XP - which was posted on 29 Jan 2019:
Also found this info on the net - I believe I used this hack many years ago to get into my XP pc)
In every installation of Windows XP, there is a built-in and default account named Administrator, which is equivalent to super user or root in Unix/Linux system.
By default, the default Administrator account has no password

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete twice to load the user login panel.
Press OK to attempt to log in without a username or password.
If that doesn't work, try typing Administrator into the Username field and pressing OK.
If you're able to log in, head straight to Control Panel > User Account > Change Account.

Vista is a different Operating System but it's worth trying with the above hack.

Actually, it may be worth just booting the laptop up and when the username and password box comes up type in Administrator without a password, click OK and see what happens.
