Arriving At Tampa
Hi
How does Tampa differ from Orlando with regard to immigration and car pick up. Is this airport quieter? Thanks

If you are on the BA flight you will be through pretty quick, you need to take the Sky Connect monorail and get off at the second stop for car rental all the companies are there. Last August from landing to driving out the car park was about 45-50 mins.

Last July we were 60 minutes from wheels hitting runway tarmac to driving out the car rental garage. Extremely quiet. Only flight in hall. Straight over to monorail to the car rental - hold on tight it’s fast! We were Avis preferred so straight down to garage and over to car. Stayed in Highlands Reserve and it was an hour 15 minutes drive to the villa. Straight forward drive. No tolls. It was so good we are doing the same next year

It is vastly better in all the respects you mention.
I would always choose Tampa over Orlando. |

When you get on the monorail and the loudspeaker tells you to hang on the handrail - do it.

Good to hear this, we're flying into Tampa in less than 7 weeks eek! Only ever flown into Miami which luckily we only have positive experiences to talk about so fingers crossed fpr the same at Tampa for our drive up to Disney!

Arriving at Tampa is really quick, we were 40 minutes from touch down to driving out of airport, however due to Friday evening traffic and storms from Tampa to Orlando it took two and a half hours to drive up to Disney, it’s a lovely airport though

This is exactly what we did 4 weeks ago.
Tampa is a very easy airport to navigate - compact, well laid out and well sign-posted. We were driving out around 90 mins after wheels down. Would probably be our airport of choice in future, especially if starting our trip at St Pete Beach.
