I book direct with the airline BA, haven't used a travel agent for over 30 years.

I've booked everything myself. Researched for hours and hours. I booked flights on day of release, directly with BA, and am very happy with the price. I've also spoken to them at length and they have been extremely helpful. We've booked 9 different locations for accommodation, in places that we researched too. I then booked whoever was a) cheapest and b) cancellable. I've mostly used Expedia for this, via Quidco (when I remembered!). I feel more in control this way. I've also spoken to Disney on the phone a few times. I have booked theme park tickets in the BF sale, either via an agent, or direct with the park. I'm hoping everything falls into place in August...

We just booked everything direct or using sites like ATD for tickets. I did price up our holiday with Virgin, and even with indirect flights, it came in at almost double what we’ve paid booking separately, and we wouldn’t have had the flexibility of booking everything how we want it (in fact, my dummy Virgin booking didn’t include our first 5 nights at Universal as I couldn’t figure out how to add a different hotel.)

I book everything myself, but have done some elements via agents where the price is better. For last year’s trip I booked the fly drive part direct with BA, Disney hotel with dining plus Universal tickets through Orlando Attractions (who are great), Universal hotel through Travelbag online, and villa direct with owner

Never use a travel agent for the US, do it yourself nearly always cheaper and always more flexible 😊

I'll buck the trend here and say I used My Magic Holiday this time and the price was the same as what I could get DIY for with the bonus of the TA protection which came in very handy when the TC collapse happened as our flights were with them. They were amazing with helping us sort everything and arranging our refund and kept their customers updated every step of the way.I would definitely recommend that you give them a call and get a price from them.

No longer use a travel agent. My vacations have become sufficiently multi centre and therefore labour intensive that they would not be competitive.
I research a lot and book it all myself (with the invaluable assistance at various times of numerous kind Dibbers). It really is not difficult and in fact, great fun. The more you research, the better (and cheaper) you get... generally.
