What to wear to a nightclub

Just realized it's a few weeks until I have a night out at a nightclub 😳 I've not been in a nightclub since 1998 😂

What do you wear ?

If it helps I am petite and plump and knocking at the 40 door 😳

do nightclubs in the old sense still even exist, most are just bars that stay open later these days & have Djs etc or proper dance clubs ?

I'd say whatever you wear for a night out ?

I honestly don't know novocastrian 😂 I will go with your knowledge that it will be a bar with DJ.

I don't go on nights out, if I do go out it's for dinner in a restaurant or to stay at a hotel 😳

Check the website for dress code - eg some may say smart casual no jeans and trainers and others may same glamorous! Also their website will have photos to give you a clue .

Not that I have been in a nightclub for years - cocktail bars yes !

My son 21 always wears jeans and usually a designer t shirt
My daughter wears whatever she is comfortable in.
Think most clubs now just say smart casual.
Wear what you feel comfy in Minnie as long as it isn’t pj’s 😂😂

The last time I went 'out out' (as the kids say now ) I wore black skinny jeans and a black top with some sparkle on. I wasn't over or under dressed, we went to a couple of trendy pubs and then a nice bar with a DJ and dancing.

I was surprised to see some of the younger ladies in denim shorts and box fresh white trainers. They looked so much happier than the girls in little dresses and huge heels!

Have a look to see if the place that you're going to has a FB page as they may upload photos so you can see what type of place it is. As long as you feel comfortable in what you're wearing I'm sure you'll be fine, I've learnt over the years that my choice of footwear can make or break a night out. Gone are the heels, in are the boots or wedges!

My sons always wear jeans even when they are going into London, black skinny jeans and a posh black top. I’m old so what do I know!

I am in a similar position but nearer to 50 than 40 !
A few mums I am friendly with are wanting a night out round bars etc when one of the mums baby is born. They are all a lot younger than me and have regularly gone out (not a lot) but I have not been out for years.
I don’t want to be a party pooper so I will go but what do I wear! I do t have a clue. I don’t want to look like the eldest swinger in town but I don’t want to look like an old funny duddy either.
