Question Majorca or Ibiza mid Oct?

Was looking at going to Majorca or Ibiza mid Oct (week before half term). Looks like the weather could be a bit unpredictable. Anyone been at this time? Was the weather warm? Not expecting it to be roasting! Was everything still open?

Been to both mid October and the weather is very hit and miss. Unfortunately for us, both trips were fairly cold and grey I wouldnt visit that time of year again. However friends of ours have been at the same time and its been toasty. Just to unpredictable for me

We have been to Ibiza in October half term, 2 years ago. The weather was great for us, not boiling hot, but hot enough to sunbathe / go to the beach etc.
We stayed at the Hard Rock hotel, can’t remember the resort name but it is quite near the airport - and it was really pretty dead at that time of the year, the hotel was really quiet and there were very few local restaurants / shops open.
To be honest we were okay with that as just wanted to relax in the sun for a few days.
We did get a taxi to Ibiza town, which is lovely and that was a lot more lively, with everything open and lots of people milling around.

Weve been to Majorca a couple of times in October, very different weather, one year they had terrible floods whilst we were there a storm that practically lasted 24 hours, and another year was red hot.

I went in October once and it was so cold i was wearing jeans and jumpers, then another year it was warm but not hot. Canaries might be a better bet

We went to Majorca the 1st week of October 2018 and wouldn't return at that time of year again. It was hot however it was so windy so made it too cold to sunbathe. Towards the end lots of restaurants had already closed for the season.

we went palma oct 1/2 term last year

1st night was biblical rain, then it cleared up to a pleasant enough @20 ish. not really sunbathing weather but ok for walking about in shorts etc. Palma being a capital everything was open still not so sure about resorts although we did goto Soller which was surprisingly lively

personally october i'd go canaries if after a sun/pool/beach type break

We've been to Majorca in October and I needed a cardigan most of the time. We definitely couldn't swim and things were running down for the season. The Canaries would be a better choice.

We went to Majorca once at the end of September and the weather was perfect for cycling but not for sunbathing.

Thanks for all the replies. Think we might look at the canaries instead - don't want to take the risk that it might be cold and raining!
