Flight options from Northern Ireland

We have either had a Thomas cook package direct or direct with Aer Lingus flights at a reasonable enough price but I’ve been checking out flights with Aer Lingus even though our dates aren’t released for another 2 weeks and at the minute they are still sitting too expensive for us at around £900 each . So what other options has anyone used for flights ? Dates 11th August to 25th August and our accommodation is already booked . 2 adults a 9 and 4 year old and we live in Northern Ireland

Dublin is best option, clearing immigration at the airport.
Flights were very cheap Dublin Newark Orlando

I'd say Virgin from Belfast, or if getting to Dublin is not a problem, then do Aer Lingus. The advantage of the latter is you can pre-clear US Immigration & Customs there.

If you can I would wait it out to January. I always buy my June California flights in January with Aer Lingus as they have a January sale every year. And the Dublin pre clearance is a huge bonus, as it takes away that stress of queuing at immigration and having to answer those questions when you are tired after a transatlantic flight.

It's United who fly via Newark.

As others have said I would also recommend doing pre clearance at Dublin. Aer Lingus would fly direct to Orlando, and you can get a connecting flight from elsewhere - eg American via Philadelphia, Delta via JFK, United via Newark.

This year we did We did Virgin Belfast City - Manchester - Orlando booked direct with Virgin Atlantic. The connecting flight was flybe.

We have also done United Airlines from Dublin. There are several options for transfer eg Newark, Washington.

Also have done Air Canada Rouge from Dublin via Toronto. We included 3 day stopover in Toronto on the outward journey to visit friends.
