Grew up in Scotland , moved to South Shields 30 yrs ago

Growing up we had an enclosed “close” from front to the back of house
Outdoor it would have been the cut or cutting .

Sand shoes or gutties.
Roll now I say bun or roll.
Dressing gown or housecoat.
