Although if you book a couple of aspects of the holiday with one company, its usually counted as a package and has ATOL protection.
We usually book flights and car hire with Dial a Flight in order to get ATOL protection. We then book hotels with hotels.com (getting them to price match anyone cheaper). We shop around for park tickets and airport parking.

Oh 100%, we always book a flight + car with BA or Virgin, thus making it a package. Everything else I do myself.

Neither, I'd book myself - it will almost always be cheaper and you will have so much more flexibility
Travel Agent "protection" has been shown to be worthless during COVID and as the only real reason to use one is for the protection you may as well bypass them completely If you must use a TA then be sure to ask them (in writing) to guarantee that they have fully refunded all travellers from 2020 as a condition of you booking with them (none of them will, because none of them have!) |

I would DIY
If you book with a TA Check all terms and conditions before you book and presume the worse when doing so to see what your options will be if things don't go to plan |

Third holiday currently booked with OF. Never had an issue, competitive price, always answer email promptly. Not had to contact them whilst in Orlando ( thankfully) so cannot comment on that side.
