Gatwick would be easier train Gatwick to St Pancras then ten minute walk to Euston (there is tube but it’s just as quick and less hassle to walk)
Heathrow would be tube , change at Green Park to Euston , tends to be crowded and as it stops at every stop feels endless plus it’s a long walk at Green Park to change lines.

I don’t think Heathrow Express to Paddington is worth it as it’s very overpriced and you’d still need to heft your luggage down into the tube and up again.

I do anything not to navigate the tube with luggage though .

The trick is to use the TFL service (soon to be the Elizabeth Line) it may take a few minutes longer but it's half the price.

We have flights going out from Gatwick but return to Heathrow, we’re going to park the car in Heathrow and get the National express down to Gatwick the day before we fly and staying at the premier inn

We chose the alternative option of getting our return flight from Tampa so we flew back into Gatwick as we are due to go out end of October and the November flights only go from Heathrow.

An hour or so extra drive on the last day of the holiday is much easier than the joy of the M25 on arrival back in blighty.

Drop the family and luggage at the Gatwick Sofitel.

Drive to Heathrow and park the car.

Pick up a few cans of G&T from M&S in the terminal.

Catch the National Express coach back to Gatwick, supping on aforementioned G&T.

Train all day for me. Only pfaff was tube with luggage on return home when sluggish (no probs going, full of beans), but crashing on train beats driving... Safer too.

We were planning on doing this this summer but the other way so flying out of Heathrow and back in to Gatwick. Our plan was to park the car at Gatwick and then travel to an airport near Heathrow the night before the flight. That way it leaves plenty of time to get to the airport and on return the car is at the right airport.
Whilst on a call to BA about something else, the lady that I was talking to noticed that we were flying out of and in to different airports and changed the flights for us so now flying (Fingers crossed) out of LHR and back to LHR.

When we went to New York then down to Florida we went out of LHR and came back into LGW and dropped the car off with Purple Parking meet and greet at LHR and they delivered it back to us at LGW, easy and no issues. We are booked to go to Florida this coming November and noticed they were coming back into LHR which makes it a longer drive home for us as we are south of LGW so chose to go to and fro to Tampa instead.
