Mobile Disney room charges...

Very quick question. We fly tomorrow and are staying at Disney with no dining plan this time. My credit card is linked to the booking on MDE, do the front desk automatically charge the card after the first $100 or do I have to go to the front desk and pay the amount via chip & pin? Asking because the card I have stored is one I don’t use other than on holidays and I cannot for the life of me find the PIN number anyway! If I have to use the pin then I can use another card so not an issue lol

They didn’t charge to the card at CSR when we stayed recently. We were able to use the gift card to pay part of the balance and then left the rest to be charged to the cc at the end of the stay. I didn’t at any point have to use the PIN.
I think I maybe had several $100 holds however the cc I used was one that doesn’t detail pending charges so I couldn’t be sure. I used it for a lot of things and it took a while to update.

I wouldnt charge to the band again. I last charged to my room on the 1/10, and checked out on the 7/10. They still have a $400 charge on my account!

I was told it was an original $100 immediate hold, and then whatever you spend is also held. It's not charged, but the money is held in the pending part of your account. For me with Natwest it left my available balance.

I paid my card off with gift cards.

When I stayed at Beach Club for 10 nights last month I had no holds put on my card and no charges taken until the night before I checked out so it does seem to vary. My total spend was about $300 and when I checked out the lady at the front desk was extremely surprised that my charges were only on one page! I got the impression she was used to people spending a lot more than that and the charges going onto two or more pages.

Thanks everyone! We always charge to our band but this year as we don’t have a dining plan I’m conscious of what we’re spending 😂 it will mainly be on food, and as long as I don’t have to put a PIN number in then it’s all good as that card is only for our food as have another for anything else. Just about to head to the terminal 😊
