OKW to DTD

Can you walk from OKW to DTD? If so, how long does it take?

Thanks.

I asked this question a while back and the answer seems to be that yes you can and it takes around 15 minutes, although the path is not suitable at night as it is not lit and goes across a golf course I believe? I may be worng though and I am sure someone with more knowledge will be along shortly to answer your question

The path is dark at nighttime but it is walkable.

Alternatively you can get the boat. Very relaxing ride!

I'd be amazed if it only takes 15 mins - the boat took that, and was faster than us walking! I guess depends where you start from!

I think 15 mins is optimistic. Also, seem to recall seeing signs (as we passed on boat) saying that you're not supposed to use the path between dusk and dawn.

I would say it could take as long as 30 minutes and as it goes across the golf course and is near water you can't use it between dusk and dawn because of alligators. It's far easier to get the boat. You will notice that only the crazy Brits walk!

You could take a look on Google Maps to try to find a path and then judge the walking distance. I very often hover over Florida to get my bearings!

Yes, it's about a 30 minute walk. I definitely wouldn't attempt it after dark!

It's been a while since I did the walk (which I did from DTD to OKW, not the other way around) but I'm fairly sure, if you look at the OKW resort map, that it's down at the end of South Point Road where you see that little gap in the water way by buildings 54 & 55.

From where the path starts, it's about a mile. The path is near the quiet pool at South Point between Bldg 54 and 55.

So it will take you as long to walk - from there - as it takes to walk a mile. That's 15-20 minutes for me. It's a really lovely walk. From South Point it was far quicker to walk to DTD than get the boat.
