New Orleans Hotel HELP :confused2

Hi guys

We're going to be in New Orleans on part of a road trip holiday this Sept (27th to 30th). We're two females travelling alone (TINY budget) so I need help please on either of the following:

1) Cheap but clean hotels in a good area to see things (French Quarter is our biggie) that include parking.

2) recommended places to park or ways to travel in if we stay in an out of town hotel/motel.

We tend to econolodge etc around so I don't need fancy stuff, just somewhere safe and clean.

THANK YOU!

Stayed at the Hotel Provincial in the French Quarter. Very nice. Lovely courtyard garden. Small swimming pool. Parking. No idea of current costs though.

Thank you, I'll check that one out. Was the area ok at night?

It was fine. We were warned not to leave the French Qarter at night though. Reception gave us a map showing problem areas.

We are staying in New Orleans on the 5th and 6th September 2012 at the Country Inn and Suites by Carlsson. This is located on Magazine Street two blocks from the French Quarter. It as come highly recommened by my companies US representative.

We got an excellent deal of £56.00 per night through Expedia.

Valet parking is extra and costs $25.00 per night. According to our representative parking is at a premium in New Orleans

Peter

The Provincial is in a quiet part of the French Quarter. The main parts are all within easy walking distance though. Wouldn't like to try to park in New Orleans.

The hotel parking is valet parking. Think it mostly is in New Orleans.

Unfortunately it's coming up at £200 a night and that's out of our price range but thank you.

Thank you. It looks lovely but it's sold out
