Travel day part 2
So we boarded and could tell it wasn't going to be a busy flight, but really weren't expecting it to be this empty.
No one in the row in front of us and probably for 3 or 4 rows behind. Drinks and snacks after take off. I love those little corn things and could have eaten many more throughout the flight. Then my preordered meal came out, which was a butternut byriani. Lots of rice, but actually had a little bit of heat and a reasonable amount of flavour so it was OK and I ate it all. Salad and chocolate pot were both also OK, nothing amazing but all were eaten. DH had mac and cheese (other option was bbq chicken). Also goes in the same category, OK but not amazing. I had the vegetable lolly, which seems to be pretty hated on the DIBB. It says again unexciting but fine. Afternoon tea came. Mine was a chickpea wrap which actually tasted quite nice. But I was quite hungry at this stage so could have easily eaten 2 or 3 of these. I wasn't in the mood for sweet food, but was so hungry I ate the apple and elderflower bar, I gave the chocolate one to DH. Sounded like I picked the nicest by far. DH had his afternoon tea. That scone really had been heated up! The flight was going well, but it felt like we went all the way down the West coast of Florida to avoid a storm, so that added a bit to flight time. Then we hadn't properly sorted MPC before we went so joined the normal queue as it didn't look too long, but it was moving at a snails pace so we should have just sorted it. Ended up waiting for our lyft to the hotel at 7, getting to Saratoga just after 7:30. Quickly unpacking then walking into Springs. Our room was in Congress Park as requested, so a nice easy walk. We had three aims and completed two of them, so not too bad. Picked up the magic bands that came with our tickets, then popped into Eet. We weren't too hungry at this point, so just had masala fries and a root beer. $12.12. Very enjoyable, we'll be back to Eet for full meal at some point. At this point we got back to the room and after a little glass of port went to sleep, all ready for MK in the morning.

I can’t believe how empty your flight was!
Sounds like a good travel day with some decent food. Looking forward to seeing more from Eet (and trying it ourselves on the next visit). |

Great start!
Can’t believe your flight was so empty! The plane food looked good too. Can’t beat a trip to Disney Springs on your first evening. Your fries looked good from Eet. Have a fab day! |

I'm looking forward to eating at Three Bridges and Morimoto Asia so that will work well 😊😊
So empty, I don't know if it was unusual or perhaps there's just no need for two Virgin flights MAN to MCO on a week day after schools are back. Although I think premium was pretty full when I looked at seats. Love Disney Springs on a first evening, or just in general. It's why we love Congress Park at SSR. Just so easy to wander over.

Day 1
Day started when I woke at 2am, which while not ideal is also not that unusual so I started book two of the holiday. Then DH woke and we watched some YouTube for a bit and managed a bit more sleep before getting up about 6.
Last couple of times I've really struggled finding breakfast I can eat, particularly as it's rare I feel like anything sweet in the morning, so this time we've brought quite a bit of snacks and breakfast bits with us. So this was breakfast. Not exciting, but just what I needed and I'll definitely be bringing things again. DH would happily just buy American pastries 😊 We were planning on two LLMP days throughout our trip, but ended up with three so I could also play with them on day 1. While the cost is annoying, I really quite enjoyed it. But we do come in September because of lower crowds (and Food & Wine and HHN) so it may be different in busier times. We had booked: 9:20 Tiana 10:20 Haunted Mansion 11:20 Buzz So at 7am we went for a Tron virtual queue. I wanted an earlier group to hopefully go when the VQ was shorter, so both DH and I were trying for it. He got group 1, so I can't really ask for shutting earlier than that! We rope dropped Seven Dwarves and during the queue had a Notification that Tiana had moved to a redemption so we kept that and booked space mountain for 9:45. Then wandered up to Tron which was a walk on at 9am, so very glad we got to experience that. We then did Buzz and People over (both walk ons and meaning I could move the Buzz lightning lane) before Space Mountain. After which we had a coffee and a seat for a bit. I had the shakin' Jamaican and DH had an iced chai. This is our normal Jofferys order, if that's a concept that's allowed 🙂 There's a reason we consistently order these, we love them! Then with the LLMP we did Haunted Mansion, which we also love. Then we stopped for a little treat to remind us of our first holiday to Orlando 15 years ago. Yum! We did Tianas and got absolutely soaked and then Big Thunder. At this point we'd had a fantastic first morning with loads of rides, but it was time for lunch. So we wandered over to the Contemporary. I've always liked the idea of lounges but we never actually go. DH doesn't drink and going out to a bar isn't the kind of thing we'd do at home, but I've just seen lots of posts on here that look like I really want to try them so there are many planned for this trip and Steakhouse 71 was first. We knew what we were ordering before we got there, but had a look at the menus in case anything else was more tempting. It wasn't! I had a 1971 sunset, but a one person sized version! DH had a diet coke. Service was lovely, prompt and friendly. My drink was good, quite fruity but not too sweet. The tequila flavour was subtle I thought, but DH disagreed when he tried it! Then I had onion rings and DH had the burger. The onion rings were good, but that source was amazing. I think it was described as a spicy ranch. It wasn't spicy as in hot, but it was full of flavour and I loved it. Onion rings were good, but basically just a vessel for the sauce. DH had high hopes for this burger from reviews he'd seen. He did enjoy it, but said he'd still prefer D-Luxe. It was very rich, but stayed together while eating in a way that seemed rare for burgers! We really enjoyed it there, so I think my plans for more lounges this trip will continue. We came back to Saratoga then for a break by the pool, mainly reading and a little dip. Back out to HS was planned for later with LLMP for Runaway Railway, Midway Mania and Slinky. But now it's time for a quick run to make sure I'm back in time for today's VQ rush, so I'll write that but up later!

What an action packed ride filled morning (love the savoury breakfast too!), you did well with your VQ too! 😁
We love a lounge 😍 and your onion rings look amazing, sorry the burger wasn’t as good as d-luxe but sometimes you have to try these things to know. Pool time sounds perfect, it grey and miserable here. 🤩 xx

Oh what a great morning in MK! I didn’t know you could buy pickles in a packet… love that!
Your meal at SH71 looked nice, but I do agree with your DH about the burgers in DLuxe being good. Looking forward to hearing about HS! |

Group 1 for Tron, you can't ask for more than that!
We really enjoyed Steakhouse 71. The lounge is a good idea - I might consider that as I'd like to go back and it would be nice to do so without being tied to an ADR. I'm considering going to Morimoto Asia in November... your review may seal it's fate in my plans so I'm looking forward to that one, whenever it may be!
