Disclaimer - no food in this post 😲

Seaworlds Howl O Scream was completely new to us, but we wanted to do new things this trip. So it was DHs surprise birthday present from me.

He was feeling a bit run down, but we thought we'd just have a wander around for a couple of hours. We got there at 7 just as the opening show was starting - so we just caught the end of this from the side.

The first scare zone was fab, especially as we'd gone in with low expectations.

Then we came to the first house, Ultimate Gamble, with the first big difference from HHN. We had read about this beforehand, but not having wait times posted is weird. The queue didn't look too long so we just went for it. In the end it took about 20 mins. They were pulsing you in with groups of 10 or so.

Again better than we were expecting and a lot longer, but with a storyline that progressed but we didn't really understand why. There was an ending to this which was very unexpected and a little claustrophobic.

As we left the house you were right at the entrance for the next one with no wait, which was a nice surprise. But the lift in the second scene had a slight malfunction (not what you want when starting the day with Tower of Terror! ) so we went out and back in. This had an underwater theme with mermaids, but quite a long way from Ariel!

This one had a spinning fairground style path to walk along at the end which I found very challenging 🤣

We continued around the park and onto the next house, Farm 51. Which was about aliens and farms. There was quite a long queue and angry people leaving it. We moved forward for the first 20 mins, then we're stationary for 20 mins, but in about 5 mins after that. Apparently there had been a fire alarm gone off. All seemed fine when we went in and a good bit of the start of the house was outside. There were some good effects in this house.

The next house we walked past had too long a queue, so we just continued around.

The scare zones go on for miles and have far fewer people than HHN so there were some great scares going on.

We considered going back at this point, but I wanted to try one more house, Waters Edge. There wasn't much of a queue for this at all, but for most of the time they were sending individual groups separately so we waited about 25 mins.

We ended up going through with two other couples. Was a good house, again longer than expected, but an odd bit towards the end where you walked through lots of medical tubing.

We ended up leaving about 10, not bad given it was shutting at 11 for a 5k run. I did look into this beforehand, but it was about $100 and I'm far too tight to pay that for a 5k 🤣

Overall, a fun evening and we're glad we went. Scare actors were amazing, cometely on a par with HHN. Operations however were not and we were glad it wasn't too busy. We probably won't rush back, but might go again in a few years as it will be interesting to see if it progresses. I still can't get my head around the lack of posted wait times though.

Leftover pizza for breakfast is fab but what a pain that there was no fancy croissant at Gaston’s, thankfully just can’t beat a dole whip! We love Geyser Point, the Mac and ‘cheese’ balls look tasty. Sounds like the D’Luxe burger is the one to beat for your DH! 😁 Your room dinner looked tasty, what a pain about SW and their food options. I hope you had a good night anyway. Xx

It's the first time we've been to Geyser Point, but it's so lovely there I can see why it gets recommended so much.

We've moved onto Universal, but the creme brulee croissant has now made it into the list of reasons why I'll have to plan another trip after this one 🙂

Well it’s always good to have a reason to come back. Enjoy Universal 😊

I’m so sorry they didn’t have the creme brûlée croissant for you…

Wow can’t believe your stamina to do that much in one day.

The burger looked nice despite it not being as good as D Luxe!

Glad I’m not the only one eating leftover Blaze for breakfast 🤣

Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit rundown too… I’ve had a sore throat the last few days but putting it down to having the air con on at night.

Have you tried Teak Neighbourhood Grill before? It’s not far from universal and might be one to try for your DH! I think you can also sub the meat for a beyond burger; I’m sure there’s probably other vegan menu options too.

Or it might just be that D’Luxe will always be number 1! 😁
