The £42 is payable to the Home Office and if successful on the checks you get a code back. That code is what you need to get on the CBP website and then you pay $100 so yes you did pay that money to the UK Govt.

Your first one is 5 years plus the time until your birthday. So in my case I received mine in September 2016 and it expires on May 28th 2022.

It's excellent. However everybody needs it and 1 extra person means you can't use it. For example we take our Granddaughter and she hasn't got it so we all have to line up.

We can be through Immigration in 5 mins flat otherwise.

Thanks Mr Tom - really useful to hear Dibber experiences. I think I had previously assumed it would be a lot more expensive and discounted it but the value really isn't that bad if it lasts for 5 years.
