I believe the OP discounted the freezing of water in the original post

We got these from Costco and I can’t rate them highly enough they are fantastic. They come in packs of two and they keep water literally ice cold.

so take an unfrozen cold bottle of water as well as the frozen ones, drink that first, then a couple of hours later, the icy ones will have melted enough to have a drink from... and keep topping them up at fountains to melt it quicker and get more cold water from them!

To keep bottles cool or actually drink them once melted. I'd be careful with that as I've read ice from these places carry a high level of bacteria, even fresh ones as they are not 'drinkable' grade (ie not to be used in drinks)

Very logical but the original post states they can only take one bottle

Get a bottle that is double walled (insulated). This will keep your drink cold all day even if left in the sun.

These clip onto belt loops.

Depends where you are staying and what facilities you have access to.

We use the Chilly type bottles but use the blender in the villa and make a slushy with water/ice and then fill the bottles, can be drunk within a short space of time as its not frozen solid but also takes time to fully melt so stays cold

Another vote for Chillys. When we were in USA in September I could leave it in the car, literally be unable to touch the bottle initially when we returned as it was so hot but the water inside was ice cold,

I’ve frozen half a bottle of water and then filled it up quite often.

We take frozen with us, but once drunk, we just use the empty bottle and fill it from the fountains for the rest of the day. My advice to anyone is to just use the water fountains. We don’t even bother getting free water from the QS places. We have a kind of unwritten rule that every time we pass a water fountain we all have to have a big drink.
